Roles & Responsibilities :
• Problem determination and resolution or escalation to a higher level, when documented or requested on OPC.
• Overview on work management tools, Assyst / OPC/CONTROL-M/NETVIEW/ OMEGAMON/ Callout / HP-Aviva)
• Should possess ITIL basic knowledge on queue mgmt., should be aware of SLA's / OLA's.
• Knowledge on different LPAR's in OPC and also be able to know how to navigate within options in OPC.
• Knowledge on JCL creation, amendment and finding errors.
• Knowledge on Batch Scheduling on TWS, Control-M. Creating Application Descriptions, Run Cycle, and calendar.
- Manage Incidents and tasks.
- Error Handling, $avrs options, Type of errors, Interface options, Checking DB2 thread, use of EVT environment, CMT delete, Control D.
- Checking on IPL information, CICS transaction, checking subsystem status.
- Understand and manage Incident upgrade and downgrade process.
• Understand and manage system tasks (STC)
- Understand functions on major and minor system tasks.
- Control start up, shutdown, and restarts tasks, such as:
- JES2, DB2, CICS and IMS
- CA-7, Control-M and its related system tasks
- MIM/MIA/MII, HSC, and DFHSM
- Network started tasks and TSO
- Understanding of dependant system tasks
- Control and manage complete system
• Configure and manage system and complex tape resources
- Start up and shutdown of system tasks (HSC, MIA, etc)
- Control and configure virtual tape system and hardware
- Recover tape systems and hardware
- Analyze impact on system tasks (DB2, SMF, OLDS, etc)
• Analyze and resolve system Incidents
- Analyze system alerts and/or threshold exceptions
- Identify and resolve enqueues, lockouts, and deadly embraces via GRS and MII
- Recover from excessive or high spool utilization
- Initiate and complete system SVC and SAD dumps; manage system dump data
- Determine system message return/reason code meaning
- Cycle system tasks (STCs) as required
- Analyze system logs via TSO, SAM, and SMR
