Job Position : Release Engineer
Desired Qualification : BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline; advanced degree a plus
Desired Experience : 4+ Years (Mandatory)
Release Engineer :
• Ideal Candidate will manage and participate in tools development and being part of the build/release cycle for enterprise software.
• He will build and release software components and interfaces in great technical depth, write build script programs to assure high build quality, and develop advanced build and release tools to increase productivity and efficiency.
Responsibilities :
• Work with technology teams to build, automate and release software for multiple projects
• Develop build plans, build scripts and automate for multiple releases
• Develop and maintain application tools using Java that build, deploy, automate and streamline code management and product delivery process
• Drive the configuration management plans for the different projects and maximize outcomes and results
• Provide support and flexibility for any required changes to build/release/version-control processes
• Provide build status to product teams and articulate build and release engineering issues in detail
• Work closely with the development team to analyze, debug and resolve any issues
• Participate in product development planning meetings
• Collaborate effectively with peers, managers and architects to solve complex problems spanning their respective areas to deliver end-to-end quality in our technology and customer experience
• Influence development managers to insure appropriate levels of build quality
• Come up with innovative ideas to improve the build process and productivity
• Influence and communicate effectively with non-technical audiences including senior product and business management
Qualifications :
• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline; advanced degree a plus
• 4 or more years of professional experience in Build and Release engineering, Java development, product development or testing with a willingness to learn/excel in build and release
• Mastery of any source control tools such as RTC, Accurev, Git, SVN, CVS.
• At least 2+ years' experience in writing and maintaining shell scripts.
• Solid programming skills in Java based tool development are essential
• Experience in build and release activities and automation of such activities highly preferred
• Sound knowledge of UNIX, ANT/Shell scripting language
• Knowledge of RCM concepts (codelines, branching, merging, integration, versioning, etc.)
• Experience in configuration management related activities
• Experience in integration/automated tools (BuildForge, Maven would be added advantage)
• Experience with structured build files/tools (Ant, Maven)
• Strong knowledge of RDBMS and experience writing SQL scripts
• Hands-on experience with various build scripts development and deployment
• Strong working knowledge of AIX/Unix/Windows Operating systems
• Excellent problem solving, analytical skills and technical troubleshooting skills
• Clarity and precision in verbal and written communication
• Ability to work with customers, developers, documentation, product management, support staff
• Familiarity with software development life cycles and agile programming methodologies
• In-depth understanding of large complex software systems to isolate defects, reproduce defects, assess risk and understand varied customer deployments
• Ability to learn new skills quickly as needed
• Candidate with experience in Product based company will be given a preference

Systems Testing :
• Candidate should have proven, significant experience in Test Automation with QTP, Load runner etc.
• Experience of4 years, hands-on software test development.
• Should have executed projects and worked in the different phases of a complete product life-cycle process.
• Strong knowledge in Software Engineering concepts, Verification & Validation, Quality processes and tools.
• Familiar with Configuration Management, defect tracking, version control, Requirements management concepts and tools.
Academic Background & Experience :
• Essential Bachelors degree in engineering
• Essential 4+ years of related work experience with a strong understanding of specified functional area
Required Skills :
• Experience with complex systems in a regulated/distributed environment
• Experience in verification of software/hardware control systems
• Ability to create verification plan and verification report that meets internal procedures and external requirements
• Understanding of servers and SAN storage
• Experience with DB Copy tool, Log Parser tool, SQL Proxy analyzer,
• Experience with Java based tools like visualvm etc.
Important :
• Knowledge of Independent Verification and Validation process
• Knowledge of system requirements and design
• Experience in test automation and use of semi-automated/automated systems for verification.
• Experience with Java language based development and/or Supply chain domain is a big plus.
• Experience with Product based company and product maintenance lifecycle will be given preference
• Experience with Rational tools (RPT scripts), automation tools like QTP, Load runner.
