The Cloud/Datacenter Management teams at MSIDC work on data protection and disaster recovery capabilities to achieve overall business continuity for enterprises.
We are looking for a talented and motivated UX designer to join this new team to help make the next generation of cloud based application experiences a reality.
The ideal candidate will have a track record in solving complex interaction design problems and at ease with adapting web nuances to scale and complexity.
Responsibilities involve Additionally the candidate will also contribute to developments/improvements in the engineering processes used by the entire division to increase the quality of the user experience.

Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to define the product space,
- Create user models and product/feature definitions;
- Work with usability to understand user issues and exploring design solutions to meet those needs;
- Conduct usability studies, collect information, and draw insights; provide detailed design specifications;
- Support the vision of a consistent "look and feel" in the product suite according to the overall group design strategy and synergy with other Microsoft products; and drive excellence in the final visual details of our products.
- Participate in and help facilitate design brainstorming and work sessions.
- Produce scenarios, storyboards, design briefs, sketching, visual language guidelines, motion studies, and other artifacts required to develop and evolve user experience designs.
- Work with architects, PMs and other envisioners to ensure the visual design is reflective of and additive to the target experiences.
- Deliver visual assets to engineering counterparts on time and with quality.
- Effectively communicate with developers through implementation phase to realize design vision.

Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified candidates should have at least 2 - 4 years of product design experience.
- Strong visual sensibilities, ability to use visual thinking, storyboards, sketching, and communication design to create breakthrough interaction design
- Deep understanding of fundamental visual design disciplines (typography, iconography, composition, color, composition, layout, etc.)
- Expertise creating a variety of visual design documents including storyboards, creative briefs, motion studies, and visual style guidelines.
- Meticulous sense of detail and ability to seek out simple solutions to complex design challenges.
- Exposure to and understanding of variety of design, project management, and development processes and methodologies including agile development methods.
- Fluency in current mobile and social trends.
- Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills.
- Understand the array of technical constraints, user goals and business requirements that shape current and future products.
- Proficiency with, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and all related business and design tools; minimally, familiarity with motion programs such as Maya and/or 3D Studio.
- Familiarity with web technologies like CSS/HTML/HTML 5.
- A degree in Communication Design, Interface Design, Interaction Design, or equivalent experience.
