Job#: 195161 Positions: 5 Posted: 06/07/2013 Job Type: Full Time Location: INDIA-Bangalore Department: IT - Development/Testing Category: Development/IT http://www.ChetanaS.org Mandate/Role • As an Associate Technical Writer Trainee for Aptean, you will work with a team of Documentation professionals to help produce high-quality commercial documentation for Aptean's software. • The person in this position is expected to contribute to minor deliverables such as Quick Start guides and Hot Fix/Service Pack Readme documents. • They are also expected to make updates to online help and Release Notes. • They must work proactively to ensure that the documentation produced is accurate, complete and conforms to Aptean style guidelines. • Strong command of the English language and willingness to achieve within a team environment is essential. Key Responsibilities • Support a team of experience Technical Writers to produce high-quality product documentation for Aptean's software products. • Generate output for publication and perform file maintenance tasks. • Assist with routine documentation tasks, such as capturing screen shots, correcting formatting issues and applying styles. • Make minor content updates to product documentation/online help project topics. • Incorporate review feedback and minor edits. Education • Graduation from any curriculum that provides a strong foundation in written communication, a strong command of the English language, and an aptitude for learning technical concepts. • Optional: Training on Technical Writing. Experience • 0 – 12 months of experience as a technical writer in the software industry. Required Knowledge and Skills • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an excellent command of the English language, characterized by a strong grasp of English grammar, style, tone, spelling, and punctuation. • Experience working in a team environment would be a strong plus.
