Job Description :
• The Quality Assurance Engineer role encompasses duties related to the overall success of the software life cycle.
• They play a key role in delivering high quality, reliable software to the field.
• The role of the QA engineer begins with developing testing procedures for new software features, and continues with the testing of such features before the software is released to the field.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
• Developing test cases and test scripts against new and existing software/features for client and server side applications.
• Execution of various test scripts according to a test plan schedule
• Opening of defects in a tracking database, and testing of such defects once they have been resolved.
• Quickly learn new technologies, products, and service offerings
• Creation of test plans.
• Creation of training materials, and presentation of such training materials to other departments.
• Suggest and evaluate new tools for QA
• Other responsibilities as assigned by project manager/QA manager

Education and Work Experience :
• College Degree (technical area preferred) or equivalent industry experience
• Experience in testing web based applications
• 3-5 years of testing experience
Specialized Knowledge and Skills :
• Knowledge of software development/life cycle process
• Strong product development / quality process skills
• Mid to strong database skills highly desirable
• Mid to strong UNIX skills highly desirable
• Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently and demonstrate excellent time management skills in a fast-paced environment
• Proven team player and strong interpersonal skills; should be proactive in providing suggestions and solutions for continuous team improvement
• Strong oral/written communication skills.
