ODISHA PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION
Public Service Commission in India owed their origin to the recommendations of the Royal Commission on superior services in India, 1924, referred to in short, as the Lee Commission, and now they find place in the Constitution of India in Articles 315 to 323. The Odisha Public Service Commission was constituted on 1st April, 1949 after it�s bifurcation from the former Bihar and Odisha Joint Public Service Commission. At the time of creation of the Odisha Public Service Commission the strength of the Commission was three including Chairman . The strength increased to five in the year 1979 and further increased to six in the year 1996.The Commission has acquired varied experiences and expertise in the matter of -ion of personnel to various services of the Government of Odisha during its functioning for more than five decades. It has also gone a long way in achieving the purpose of drawing the best personnel for the public services of Odisha.

Lecturers

Qualification:
A candidate should have possessed Master's Degree in relevant discipline or its equivalent Examination with at least 55% of marks from recognized University/Educational Institution.

Age:
Under 32(thirty-two) years and over 21(twenty- one) years of age on the 1st January 2012.

APPLICATION FEE :
A candidate is required to pay a non-refundable and non-adjustable fee of Rs.300/-(Rupees three hundred) only. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe of Odisha only are exempted from payment of this fee.Candidates are required to take a printout of finally submitted online Application forfuture use and take printout of online chalan (pay- in- slip) for payment of requisite fee at any branch of State Bank of India(SBI). The fee paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances nor can the fee be adjusted or held in reserve for any other examination or recruitment.

General Instructions:
(i) A candidate found guilty of seeking support for his/her candidature by offering illegal gratification or applying pressure on any person connected with the conduct of the recruitment process or found indulging in any type of malpractice in course of the -ion or otherwise, shall, in addition to rendering himself
(ii) The provisions of the Odisha Conduct of Examination Act, 1988 (Odisha Act-2 of1988) are applicable to the examinations conducted by the Odisha Public Service Commission;
(iii) Online Applications submitted to the OPSC, if found to be incomplete in any respect are liable to rejection without entertaining any correspondence with the applicants on that score;
(iv) Admission to the Examination/Viva Voce test will be provisional. If on verification atany stage before or after the Examination/Viva Voce test, it is found that a candidate does not fulfill all the eligibility conditions, his/her candidature will be liable to rejection. Decision of the Commission in regard to eligibility or otherwise of acandidate shall be final;
(v) This advertisement should not be construed as binding on the Government to make appointment.
(vi) Concession meant for S.Cs., S.Ts and S.E.B.Cs. by birth are admissible to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Socially & Educationally Backward Classes of Odisha only;
(vii) Every Lecturer on his/her first appointment to the service shall be on probation for aperiod of two years from the date he/she actually joins in the post.
(viii) Candidates are required to take due care to annex with the copy of the Printout/Hard Copy of Online Application, the copies of certificates and other requisite documents as stated under Para-11 of this advertisement.
(ix) No one will be admitted to the examination unless he/she holds a certificate of admission uploaded in the website of the O.P.S.C. The eligible candidates may download their Admission Certificate from the Website of the Commission and produce the same before the center supervisor for admission to the examination.
(x) All persons appointed under the Government of Odisha on or after 1st January, 2005 shallot be eligible for pension as defined under sub-rule(1) of Rule-3 of the Odisha Civil-service (Pension) Rules,
(xi) Any misrepresentation or suppression of information by the candidate in the Online-application Form, will result in cancellation of his/her candidature or penalty, as may be decided by the Commission, be imposed on the candidate.
