Basic Qualifications :
• Bachelors or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 4 – 8 years of industry experience.
• Solid experience in C, C++, JAVA or C# (expert in at least one)
• Solid expertise in Data Structures and Algorithms
• Solid understanding of Object Oriented design and concepts
• Solid UNIX or Linux experience.
• Good understanding of networking concepts
• Experience with scaling and performance of large systems
• Great understanding of database theory and solid experience in at least one relational DBMS
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
• Obsession with quality and customer experience - Attention to detail coupled with ability to think abstractly

Preferred Qualifications :
• Prior experience with building and supporting live high-volume production systems, Messaging (JMS etc.) - XML and Web Service concepts.
• Any HTML scripting language (JSP, ASP, PHP, etc.)
• A good engineer will demonstrate that they can proactively and continually improve their level of knowledge about Amazon's business and relevant technologies, and use this knowledge to deliver high quality, accurate software deliverables.
• Clear, professional communication skills able to contribute to team discussions, knowing when to contribute, when to listen, and when to ask questions.
• Experience with scaling and performance of large systems
Job Role :
• Developers in the team need a strong understanding of Computer fundamentals and practical experience in building large scale distributed systems.
• Experience with web-based applications and/or web services-based applications, especially at massive scale, is also helpful.
• Experience building successful production software systems.
• A solid grounding in Computer Science fundamentals (based on a BS or MS in CS or related field)
• The ability to take convert raw requirements into good design while exploring technical feasibility trade offs
• Good understanding of at least some of the modern programming languages (JAVA, C/C++) and open-source technologies (Linux, oracle).
• Excellence in technical communication.
• Has experience in mentoring other software developers.
