Pre-requisites: • Bachelor's degree (BS or equivalent) in a quantitative field (e.g. Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science) • Expertise in building massively scalable distributed data processing solutions with Hadoop, HBase, Cascading, Hive, & Pig • Deep experience with distributed systems, large scale non-relational data stores, map-reduce systems, data modeling, database performance, and multi-terabyte data warehouses • 5+ years hands on Java experience building scalable solutions • Domain experience in one or more of the following: - Recommendation Engines, Personalization - Data Analytics, Data mining, Predictive Modeling • Must be a polyglot and being a regular participant in coding/hacking contests like TopCoder, Code Jam and Hacker Cup is a plus. • Strong written and verbal English communication skills • Self-motivated, persistent and "Never Give Up" attitude • Passion for innovation and adaptability to a lean startup culture • Creativity, motivation, enthusiasm, flexibility • Ability to work hands on independently with minimal supervision and proven ability to lead a team of High Octane Coders. Job Description: • Understanding the problem context and implementing the algorithms into high quality software programs using proven design patterns • Optimizing conventional programs to run on a distributed network of machines, often relying on frameworks like Hadoop and Map Reduce • Participate in a highly fluid environment applying agile software development principles • Carry out unit tests and other quality control mechanisms to inform and validate the designs and code • Following continuous integration principles and use of GithubRevision Control system Technical Skill set: • Programming experience in relational platforms like MySQL and non-relational platforms like Hadoop, Hbase and MongoDB • Professional, on the job experience with using MapReduce to solve real world scaling problems • Experience in search and information retrieval, extraction platforms like Apache Nutch, Lucene, Solr and Tika http://www.ChetanaS.org ..................................................
