Broad outline of counselling and seat allotment through CCB (AIEEE-2011)
1. Online Registration
Open for all candidates eligible for central counselling. For online regristration, visit www.ccb.nic.in
2. Choice Filling and Locking
All registered candidates can fill their choice of branches and institutes and lock the choices. This choice list is used for the first three rounds of allotment. In the fourth and fifth rounds, candidates can make online choice modifications and lock them again. Candidates should fill choices of bra nches and institutes in their order of preference.
3. Online Seat Allotment
Seat allotment is done based on the candidate's All India Rank (AIR), category preference of choices and availability of desired seats etc. The seat allotment results will be available online at www.ccb.nic.in only.
4. Online Fee Payment
Candidates who have been allotted seats can choose to pay the initial fee through Demand Draft (DD) or can also pay through electronic mode. l\/lore details regarding modes of fee payment would be provided in the brochure.
5. Reporting
All candiclates who have been allotted a seat would be required to physically reportto any one of the reporting centers (RC) for documents verification, initial fee payment, to give option for up gradation of choices and to collect the provisional admission letter. Options for choice up gradation would be as follows:
Option (I): All the choices of preference higher than the currently allotted seat (across institutes) to be considered in the subsequent round(s).
Option (II): Only the choices within the currently allotted institute and of preference higher than the currently allotted seat, to be considered in the subsequent round(s).
Option (III): Candidate is fully satisfied with the currently allotted seat; does not want to participate in subsequent round(s).
6. Surrendering of Allotted Seat
If a candidate is not satisfied with the allotted seat after the third round and does not wish to get admitted to the allotted institute, but still wishes to remain in consideration for further rounds of allotment, can surrender his / her present allotment at the same RC where reporting was done and be eligible for further rounds, as applicable. He /she can also fill fresh choices, if desired.
7. Cancellation of Seat Allotted
A candidate at any stage can cancel his/ her allotted seat, be out of CCB admission process and initiate refund process by visiting the reporting center where initial reporting was done.
8. Admission to Allotted Institute
Candidates should go to the allotted institute for completing the admission formalities and can indicate choices for up-gradation within the admitted institute, if desired.
9. Internal Sliding
Internal sliding will be done just before the spot round amongst the candidates who have got admitted in an institute. It will be carried out centrally through CCB, based on AIR and on the basis of the branch choices given at the time of admission to the institute.
10. Spot Round
Spot round registration is open to all candidates eligible for central counselling, except those who have already been admitted to an institute through CCB. The candidates should physically report at any one of the RCs for spot round registration. Only vacant seats displayed after internal sliding will be available for spot round allotment. Spot round allotment results will be available at www.ccb.nic.in.
11. Additional Rounds: More admission rounds, if necessary, may be conducted depending on the number of vacant seats after spot round allotments.
12. Refund: Refund of initial fees for cancellation of seat allotment will be processed only after the receipt of necessary documents at CCB head Quarters.
About AIEEE
All India Engineering Entrance Exam known as AIEEE is organized by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in India. The exam was introduced in 2002 for competing on national level to get admission for under-graduate engineering and architecture courses. By cracking this examination, student can get admission in 20 esteemed NITs.
Subjects of the exam depend upon the faculty for which student is opting. If student is opting for B.Tech then he is presented with physics, chemistry and mathematics. Student who has selected B.Arch is presented with mathematics and aptitude test. Each year maximum marks and number off question vary but however equal weightage is given to each subject. Each year examination is held on last Sunday of April and results are announced in May.
