Role Summary/Purpose
Healthcare IT – Specialty Solutions leadership has secured investment to develop Radiology engineering teams for Next Generation Imaging and Enterprise Imaging Solutions. The Software Engineer has responsibilities extending to the development of systems software within HCIT Specialty Solutions. This role/position requires developing distributed software applications for Enterprise Class subsystems & Applications in a regulatory environment.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
• Develop Software that meets customer and business goals. Designing and building testing modules (unit, integration and acceptance tests) for software.
• Work closely with product owner for requirements understanding.
• Work closely with Sr. Engineers in the team for designing software and applications.
• Interacting with global teams to promote consistency and maximize synergies across common software platforms & COE's
• Leveraging TDR for software, Agile and Lean software development methodologies to drive quality into the product development life cycle
Quality Specific Goals:
1. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
2. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
3. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
4. Support compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before completing Design Outputs/Program Deliverables
5. Participate in continuous improvement activities by identifying and appropriately escalating process and product quality gaps, providing solutions when possible

Qualifications :
1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related computer field or Bachelor's Degree and 1-3 years of technical experience in the software development or equivalent (defined as High School Diploma/GED and 5 years progressive experience as an engineer or scientist within the appropriate field of study).
2. 1-3 years' experience developing software for complex systems or computerized products
3. Software development cycle or automated testing experience.
4. Experience in object oriented design methodology and various programming languages like Java and/or C++.
5. Ability & Interest to build enterprise class software using technologies like Java / HTML5 / Workflow.
6. Ability & Interest to work in all layers of software architecture, picking up new technologies like .NET as required.
7. Ability & Interest to develop new software modules and/or maintain software by fixing defects.
8. Working knowledge in configuration management tools.
Preferred Qualifications :
1. Prior experience with standards like DICOM, XDS (and IHE profiles) and HL7.
2. Masters Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related computer field
3. Experience in software platform, advanced applications, user-interface design and/or systems engineering
4. Experience in platform and application development
5. Working knowledge of LEAN processing
